I try with 2.9 and latest WP 3.0.1 and can reproduce the problem. I think you have some plugin that filter links inside the post and make a correction. Try to disactivate or remove plugins to find who is shoot your links.

  • Thanks for your reply. Looks like when I insert the code into my page, everything is fine. But when I click “update” to save the page, it strips the onclick code out and replaces it with the regular image links. Sample code before the save:

  • @Zaba
I see ‘Loading …’ by click to the images. This is mean that highslide started now.
Check where is graphics and css placed. The links for both looks broken.

  • @Wott
Where i find installation for Highslide please. I install the WP Highslide and plugin not working too.

  • @Carolyn
If you can find the highslide js files on the page included, do followed points:
    1. check that no JS error happens. On error browser stop the script if warnings disabled.
    2. check on the images

    class="highslide" onclick="return hs.expand(this)"

class is for styling. onclick is for expand.
    3. check hs variable. It’s not important as previous points but may be you override default behavior of highslide.

  • @Zaba

You have to install Highslide also. On your page no highslide available.

  • I’m intall this plugin, but Highslide not working

  • I’m testing your plugin on a new site, and I absolutely love it. So easy to use. I echo the other people above in wanting to be able to place sizes other than the thumbnail, though. :)

I am having a bit of an issue. I can’t get Highslide to work. It keeps putting a direct link to the photo. I have installed the WP-Highslide photo and confirmed that the javascript is in my page code. Do you know whether this ever conflicts with other plugins? I see that my cforms2 and Tubepress plugins both use .js files.

  • @Solomon
    Solomon,

“Gallery” button will not appears if you don’t use Thickbox, Lightbox or Highslide.
Please check “Link to larger image” property in the Image properties section in the plugin settings.

  • @Eric
    Hi, Eric,

Please check public albums or give access to private albums via settings page ( link under picasa username )

  • “In the album’s images you have to press button with ‘Image’ button. The ‘Gallery’ will appera on the button and you can select several images. This can be happen if you use Thickbox, Lightbox or Highslide support.”

Currently when I press the image button on WP 3.0.1., the text “gallery” never appears and nothing happens, which means that I’m unable to select several pictures at the moment.

  • Hi,
Installed your plugin, click on icon in “Posts” window comes up saying “movingtargethq’s web albums” or something like that, but the window is blank. I’m on a MAC btw. Any help is appreciated.

  • @spoon

One question, is it possible already (or in the future) to have the option to not display the thumbnails in the WordPress page/post editor screen? If we are placing several photos into a post or page, the thumbnails are taking up a lot of space in the editor. Is this something that can be controlled already or something that is possible to add in later versions?

In the VISUAL mode you will see images as you will see it in the post. I can’t insert image in the post and not show it in the VISUAL mode.
You can try to switch into HTML mode.

Also, the select all option for inserting a gallery would be awesome, but we would want to retain the option of selective images for galleries!

I am thinking to add such feature.
Just need free time to polish current version and make them public :)

  • Hi Wott

Great plugin! It’s the best Picasa plugin I’ve found so far, and I’ve looked at lots!

  • @explorish
    Hi,

You can manage the layout by CSS class or style in the setting. FE to sparse images in the gallery you can set something like margin:10px in the “Style” property in “Image properties” section. You can find result here: http://wott.net.ru/picasa-express/new-version-1-1/

  • @Tall
    Tall,

This error can appear when you open dialog in separate tab and close the parent or someting like this.
Let me know what you browser and how you receive this error to reproduce the error on my side.

  • @Trent
    Trent,

I just check 3.0 and 3.0.1 and found that all works perfectly.
Direct link can be open if you haven’t support for defined gallery library. Or if this library broken or change the link interface.
Let me know what you have in the “Link to larger image” and how looks the inserted link.

Tag [pe-2 gallery] only makes layout for the images. The method of link opening is defined inside every link like:
    class="highslide" onclick="return hs.expand(this,{ slideshowGroup: '4c5f4bbca7568' })"

  • Hi,
was very happy to see that you further developed picasa image express – a very useful plugin which has a weird bug for me, setting imgmax to “null” and width and heigth to 0 by default. i tried your plugin, but when i select the gallery option, it doesn’t leave any space between photos. picasa image express aligns them nicely. am i doing something wrong? link to a gallery using picasa image express here. thanks in advance!
    cheers

  • Hi, I keep getting the follow error when I try to insert picture into a post -
Error: Can not insert image(s) due wrong envirionment
Check script media-upload.js in the parent/editor window

    Can you help please thanks

  • 3.0 broke the gallery functionality of the plugin. It isn’t handling the [pe-2 gallery] tags and so the pictures just open up to a direct link.

  • @Ashok
    Hi Ashok,

You can’t add whole aldum now, just one or few images from album.

To do this click icon over edited post (Upload/Insert line), fill username if you don’t do this in settings, select album and select image or switch to gallery and select several images. Click ‘Insert’ to input images to the post.

  • Hi Wott,

I installed the plugin. But I am lost when I tried to use it. I went and looked at setting etc. But I don’t know if I should be copy pasting my picasa album in a post or if I should add some widget or ? to be able to embed my picasa album in my website. If you can show steps suggesting how to make album appear after your plugin is installed, it would be great.

  • @Anup

    Hi Anup,

You can change picasa name in dialog. Are you need more ?

  • Thanks for a wonderful plugin. A feature request is that plz extend the functionality of plugin to login to more than one picasa account. Thnaks

  • @Bor
    Hi, Bor!

Try to set thumbnail size in the Multimedia options

  • Hello,
I have the same problem as Nacho in post #16. Haven’t fixed the problem yet. I’m wondering wich settings Nacho has changed in his Multimedia options.

The plug-in works great in Firefox and Chrome. Thanks for the great work

  • @nacho
    Hi, Nacho !

Hope so your problem fixed. Thank you for feedback.

  • @Paweł

    Hi, Pavel !

for gallery you have to use image aligment or CSS via class or element style in the options in the image properties section.
Or you can add class for gallery and add rules for this img in the class in your theme css files.

About size of images – I have several request about this feature and will add more smart selection of the thumbnail size in the next version. Hope so it will be ready in week or two.

  • Hi, Your plugin is fantastic I really appreciate it – especially because I don’t have to make my albums public on Picasa to easily put it on my blog. I have only one problem – when I’m putting gallery in a post it appears as a single vertical line of photos. Is that on purpose or something is wrong with my theme or blog?

And I also have the same request as adamgn – s288 is too small – I want to use 300px thumbnails and they look ugly. Changing to s400 or letting user to configure would be highly appreciated. :)

But it’s a great piece of code anyway. Thanks!

  • Sorry. I was wrong. The problem was configuring the Multimedia options, which apparently affected differently than Explorer. Thanks

  • A great plugin. I have only one problem: when I see the web in Internet Explorer, gallery images not visible. Only see the captions and lines, as if measured only one pixel image
high. How I can fix it?
Thank you very much and congratulations.

  • Hello,
Is it possible to generate post thumbnails with your Picasa Express plugin?

    Thanks!

  • @Kendra aka The Meanest Momma
    Thank you for feedback !

I have option change in my todo, just need time to implement it.
As I write in previous reply, I will think about option for medium and big images instead thumbnail.

  • Hello,

I am quite pleased to find this plugin – I’ve been looking for something akin to Image Express that supports private albums. My feature request would be that you implement the option to override the image display, similar to how Image Express handled it. In some cases, the default cropped thumbnails is fine, but on other pages I would like to be able to display larger (medium) size images.

    Thanks for this excellent plug-in!

  • @adamgn

    Thank you !

Currently no. I was hardcoding ‘s288′ ( you can find the key in the url ) image, which mean resize to 288 pixels for biggest size. In this case enlarging more then 288px looks bad.

I will think about check thumbnail size or make an option for manage this. Now you can find src parameter in the img tag and can change s288 to s512 for example. Or remove it and receive original picture if you need bigger image.

  • This plugin is wonderful. Seriously.

I have one question: am I able to insert medium or large size images into my posts? Right now I can only insert thumbnails and when I enlarge them they look quite bad.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks again for the great work.

  • @Mayart
I think there are some misunderstanding.

The visual size of the opened picture is controlled by lightbox in your case. By default it is original picture size if not exceed display sizes.

To solve this problem picture usually resized on the server. But server is Picasa and has several fixed sizes. The biggest is 512 pixels for max height and width and can not be any size or definitely with or height. It is a problem. And because of this my plugin doesn’t take care of WordPress max width or hight preferences.

I think you have to put limitation to client JavaScript. Unfortunately Lightbox has no preferences by design, but can be customized. But Highslide has maxheight or maxwidth parameters.

  • sorry – mediathek is the german word for the settings –> media.

there i configured the large size to a maximum of 800 but the pictures still are bigger. the thumbnails are ok but when i click on the picture to enlarge it its getting the original size of 1600.

i made a new album in picasa with pictures of the size 640.

i wrote an email to you with some screenshots … thx for help

  • @Mayart
The plugin get thumbnail size from Settings->Media WP configuration

If you have troubles, please send me html code after plugin and settings.

    PS. What is Mediathek ?

  • Hi,

I configured the plugin in Mediathek that the pictures should have a smaller size than in the original picasa album, but it doesnt work – any tip?

  • @Duc Nguyen
Are you install lightbox in WordPress ?
The plugin doesn’t include Lightbox or Highslide. And you have to install it separately by hand or via some other plugins. The plugin just support this Javascript libraries and mark images wirh rel or class tags to open as single image or gallery.

  • i love the plugin’s conveniences. for some reason, i can’t get lightbox or the popup window to popup when i click on a published post with the picasa picture inserted. could you guys point the way to a solution?

  • @David
    Hi!
David, the “select all” or something like this is in my todo list. Hope so next release will have this feature…
About video – I never try video on Picasa before :) I take a look for this soon.

  • Hi there!
I really like your plug-in, it’s perfect for my website. I have one suggestion and one doubt.
The suggestion is that, when you select the gallery to include pictures (I’m talking about the WP admin), I miss a “Select all” button or something like that because if I want to put all the pics and there are for example 100, I have to click on every pic… It’d be perfect if you could add that.
The doubt is about videos. I can upload them to Picasa but I can’t see them on my site when I use the plug-in. I see a preview image. Would it be possible to see the video with the lightbox?
    Thanks a lot!

  • @matt
    Hi,
Matt, are you save plugin settings with Picasa name ?

  • hi, I have agoogle apps account. I have signed up for picasa. But I don’t seem to be able to get your plug-in to work. After granting access it changes the user name to undefined and clears out the access it was given.
